| The
CAF is a world-wide, all volunteer, non-profit and educational
organization dedicated to the preservation, in flying condition, of the
great warplanes which dominated the skies of WWII. Generally, between
14 and 20 of its aircraft are on display from the 160 plane,
multinational collection at CAF International Headquarters in Midland,
Texas . The displayed items change quarterly, so there is always
someting new to see.The Yellow Rose Squadron of the CAF has been
entrusted with the restoration, preservation, and operation of the
B-25J Mitchell, "Yellow Rose." Purchased by CAF members Jack Skipper,
Jack Jones, and Charles Becker for $12,500 in 1977, it was retired from
it's civilian job of spreading Mirex insecticide on fire ants in
Alabama. |
